Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Room Leader to oversee the daily operations of our nursery environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children. This role involves creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating atmosphere for young learners, ensuring high standards of childcare and early childhood education are maintained. The Nursery Room Leader will also be responsible for guiding and supporting childcare assistants, fostering professional development, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the nursery room to deliver high-quality childcare and early childhood education. Plan, organise, and implement engaging activities tailored to the developmental needs of children. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in the nursery at all times. Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and any incidents or concerns. Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding their child's development and daily activities. Supervise daily routines such as feeding, nappy changing, and playtime to promote a nurturing environment. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and licensing requirements. Support the professional development of team members through mentoring and training sessions. Assist in the organisation of staff rotas and resource management to ensure smooth nursery operations.

Experience

Proven experience within a childcare setting or nursery environment. Extensive experience working directly with children, ideally within early childhood education or childcare roles. Knowledge of nursery practices, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Experience with planning educational activities that promote early learning milestones.
