Nursery Room Leader
to join our welcoming team at Parcs Nursery, part of Peterborough College.
In this vital role, you'll be instrumental in providing outstanding physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care to children within your assigned room. You'll lead by example, guiding a small team of nursery staff to deliver high-quality education and support, ensuring every child thrives from 0-5. You'll collaborate closely with the Nursery Manager and your team, fostering a positive learning environment and ensuring children effectively access and participate in their early years journey.
What You'll Do:
Lead Your Room:
Deliver exceptional care and education in line with nursery policies and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework.
Curriculum Development:
Formulate and implement engaging activity programmes tailored to the age range of children in your room.
Team Supervision:
Supervise your team's daily duties, provide clear direction, conduct performance reviews, and foster a positive, collaborative environment.
Parent Partnerships:
Ensure effective communication with parents, including liaising on children's progress reviews three times a year.
Safeguarding & Support:
Work with your team to promptly identify children with potential Special Educational Needs (SEN) and address any concerns, escalating issues to the Nursery Manager when necessary.
Nursery Promotion:
Conduct show rounds for prospective families and proudly promote the nursery.
Deputising Responsibilities:
Step up to deputise for the Deputy Nursery Manager and Nursery Manager as required.
Communication:
Maintain excellent communication within the team, including holding monthly team meetings.
Policy Adherence:
Ensure all room staff work within the nursery policies and procedures at all times.
Key Children Allocation:
Effectively allocate key children.
Customer Care:
Maintain excellent standards of customer care and provide a flexible and responsive service to all users.
