Job Summary

We are creating a new toddler room within our setting and looking for a room leader, The Nursery Room Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursery room, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children. This role involves managing staff, developing educational programmes, and fostering positive relationships with children and their families. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a strong background in childcare.

This role is over four days per week

Duties

Lead and manage a team of nursery staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care and education. Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote children's physical, emotional, and social development. Maintain a safe and clean environment in accordance with health and safety regulations. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children's progress and any concerns that may arise. Conduct regular assessments of children's development and adapt programmes to meet their individual needs. Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive team atmosphere focused on the well-being of the children. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and organisational policies related to childcare.

Skills

Strong management and leadership skills to effectively guide a team. Experience working with children in a nursery or educational setting. Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Driving capability is advantageous for transporting children or running errands as needed. A background in childcare or nursery experience is highly desirable.
