Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for working with children but that are not looking for a permanent full or part time role currently. The contract for this role will be zero hours, meaning you will be offered shifts from Monday to Friday, between 7.30am and 6.30pm when there are staff shortages, such as to cover holidays, sickness, lunch cover and so on.

The Assistant will play a vital role in supporting educational activities, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children and facilitating effective communication with children and staff.

Responsibilities

Assist in the implementation of educational programmes and activities for children. Provide supervision and support to children during playtime, meals, and educational sessions. Foster a positive learning environment that encourages children's development and well-being. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the nursery or childcare setting. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth operations within the facility.

Skills

Previous experience working with children, preferably in a childcare or nursery setting would be preferred. Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices is advantageous. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with children and colleagues.

Pay: 10.00-13.50 per hour
