An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Nursing Support Worker to join our nurse-led team serving Cardigan community and its surrounding areas. At present, the service operates 24/7 with a range of shifts from days 07:30 to 20:00 and nights 19:30-08:30, including Bank Holidays. Hours of work may vary according to future demands.



Ceredigion Same Day Urgent Care and Outreach Service provides care and treatment to patients presenting with a wide range of minor injury and illness. It is an exciting time to join our team which is situated in the integrated care centre in Cardigan which opened at the end of 2019. We are constantly exploring new way of working and seek a forward- thinking individual who can play a key part in taking this much-needed service forward.



You will demonstrate a calm and confident approach to your work demonstrating excellent communication skills and the ability to manage and prioritise workloads effectively. Team working and the ability to be flexible is important to ensure that service provision can be delivered efficiently and effectively.



The successful applicant will be key in the smooth running of the department supporting the staff with health support worker and administration duties. Previous exposure to the healthcare environment is essential as the role incorporates a variety of healthcare duties including obtaining patient observations, performing ECGs, venepuncture, cannulation etc and supporting the trained staff with initial assessments and providing treatments of care under supervision.



The role also involves a variety of administration duties including covering the reception desk, booking patients onto the various IT systems and supporting the general administration duties for the team.



Part of the role is also working alongside the community outreach team, providing care and support for patients within their own homes during the day and night.



The service is constantly developing, in line with changes in local and national healthcare provision and we are looking for a forward- thinking, competent, and caring person who has the ability to work well under pressure.

Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and bordering counties.



We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in-hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.



We work in partnership with the three local authorities, as well as public, private and third sector colleagues, including our valued team of volunteers.



Our services are provided in:



Four main hospitals:

Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth; Glangwili Hospital in Carmarthen; Prince Philip Hospital in Llanelli; and Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest

Five community hospitals:

Amman Valley and Llandovery hospitals in Carmarthenshire; Tregaron Hospital in Ceredigion; and Tenby and South Pembrokeshire hospitals in Pembrokeshire

Two integrated care centres:

Aberaeron and Cardigan in Ceredigion, and several other community settings

47 general practices (six of which are health board managed practices); dental practices (including four orthodontic); 97

community pharmacies; 43 general ophthalmic practices; and 8 ophthalmic domiciliary providers

Numerous mental health and learning disabilities services
