To be the Registered Named Manager with the Care Quality Commission. Maintain managers awareness of requirements and processes of CQC, ensure safe storage of documentation, take part in CQC inspections including the preparation and PIR information, and take responsibility to report notifiable events to CQC. Effectively and efficiently manage the running of the Nursing Team with the aim of always maintaining the highest standards and quality of our service. Responsible for clear, concise and informative communication throughout the Nursing Team.
Developing, supporting and supervising Nursing Team members to ensure high standards are provided at all times, monitor practice and identify areas of good practice, as well as areas in need of development. Enable the Nursing Team to work safely in the community, offering high standards of performance and delivery of care to our patients and their families. Chair and prepare the agenda, and any other relevant papers, for Nursing Team meetings. Organise a rota for the Nursing Team phone, to ensure cover is maximised.
Work closely with Nursing Team Coordinators to ensure they are supported. Take Nursing Coordinator responsibility as per the required roster. Ensure Nursing Team timesheets are collated, submitted and overseen. Promoting good practice and encouraging Nurses to be proactive with their training.
Responsible for staff staying up to date with all mandatory training requirements. Conduct appraisals and follow up on training needs, monitoring Nursing Team performance and practice Responsible for distributing, updating, collating, filling and archiving notes, including care plans and Nurses files, ensuring documentation is stored for the appropriate timescale. Ensure compliance for all policies and procedures, relevant documentation and administration tasks are adhered to and reviewed in the required time frame. Responsible for audits throughout the Nursing Team, acting on results, positive or negative, and noting trends.
Ensure all clinical incidents and problems are well documented, followed up and concluded. Deliver an induction programme and necessary training for all staff, providing supervision and support to ensure they are able, confident and proficient to perform their role to the best of their ability Maintain the upkeep of Nursing Team storage facilities, including monitoring and ordering equipment and the disposal of unwanted goods Regularly liaise and communicate with the General Manager to ensure clear, consistent and smooth organisation and delivery of the Nursing Team. Highlight notifiable events, and report on patient numbers, staffing, engagement, developmental ideas to the Board of Trustees, via the General Manager, or another nominated individual.
Liaise with relevant local or national organisations and service providers to aspire to, and share best practice, including District Nurses, Frailty Team and other referrers. Provide quarterly data to the ICB and attend their quarterly meetings. Attend the Charitys AGM to deliver a prepared report on behalf of the Nursing Team. Attend all training courses and meetings as directed by the Board of Trustees or General Manager, relaying relevant information to the Nursing Team.
Represent the Charity as an active, community organisation, ensuring actions and decisions reinforce the Charities core purpose. Ensure the Nursing Team is highly promoted and circulated regularly and widely, on social media. Support and promote the Charitys fundraisers and initiatives as directed by the Board of Trustees or General Manager to families, supporters and members of the Nursing Team. Undertake any other appropriate and reasonable task within the scope of the job as directed by the Board of Trustees via the General Manager or another nominated individual
