Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated carpenter/joiner with oak framing experience to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting drawings, manufacturing bespoke oak frames, onsite installations, and repairing structures within residential and commercial building projects. This role requires a strong understanding of various building techniques, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work safely and efficiently on-site. The successful applicant will contribute to delivering high-quality construction projects while adhering to safety standards and project timelines.

Responsibilities

Interpret technical drawings to produce cutting lists Manufacture bespoke oak frames to a high level of accuracy, using a number of framing techniques Ability to use a number of joinery machines, power tools and hand tools Perform heavy lifting of materials such as timber, steel beams, or other structural components Collaborate with other trades such as plumbing, electrical, masonry, and carpentry teams to coordinate work efforts Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency Follow health and safety regulations at all times during construction activities

Experience

Proven experience in carpentry/joinery within a construction environment Skilled in using hand tools (saws, hammers, chisels), power tools (chain mortiser, band saw, drills, saws) effectively Knowledge of joinery techniques and masonry work is advantageous Experience with roofing installation or repairs is desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently for extended periods Ability to work on their own, and also within a small team Full driving license
Applicants should possess strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Prior experience in the construction industry is highly valued for this role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 25,000.00-30,000.00 per year
