As an Occupational Health Technician, you'll play a vital role in safeguarding the well-being of our team. You'll conduct essential medical screenings and health surveillance, while also managing key administrative tasks. Your efforts will directly contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for our employees at the Teesside and Skinningrove facilities. Key Responsibilities
Conduct medicals and health surveillance, including pre-placement, drug testing, driver medicals, vision testing, audiometry, and spirometry, while adhering to British Steel medical standards.
Operate under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RGN), including remote assistance for medical assessments.
Ensure strict adherence to medical confidentiality rules and compliance with GDPR and medical standards.
Utilise IT systems for remote screening and health promotion.
Book medicals, handle insurance documentation, and enter fit notes into the iTrent system.
Manage call handling, message recording, filing, archiving, and general cleaning duties.
Handle any reasonable management requests.
What we need to know about you
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Clean driving licence for site visits.
Good time management and listening skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Willingness to undertake training to gain necessary competencies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and effective computer skills.
Previous medical experience is desired.
Positive, can-do attitude and team player.
Required training: Amplivox course for Audiometry, Spirometry course, and OHC key principles training.
