Full Time, Fixed Term until 30th September 2026





We are looking for a passionate Occupational Therapist to work for the Bristol City Council in Accessible Homes and TEC Hub.





The team is multidisciplinary with OTs, OTAs, Surveyors, OT Technicians, Caseworkers and TEC Assessor Installers all working together to keep people independent and safe. We work across the city, in all tenures.

We are passionate about working towards making living spaces more accessible. Our primary focus is to support people to remain living autonomously in their own homes for as long as possible, as cost-effectively as possible.





This role will offer you a new challenge that will help make a difference. Working with colleagues in the team you will bring your knowledge of holistic assessment and clinical reasoning. In the role you will develop your knowledge and understanding of the built environment, to support people to achieve their goals, optimise their independence and enhance their quality of life through adapting their home environment.





We welcome applications from all grades of occupational therapists, including those awaiting registration, experience of working in the community is preferable.


You will have:




A degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration (or confirmation of a pass and awaiting registration)
+ Previous experience working in the community is preferable
+ Proven ability to work autonomously with confidence - the role allows for flexible working practice from home and office.
+ Knowledge and awareness of relevant legislation and policies relating to home adaptation and adult social care.
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with customers, families, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals
+ A keen interest in learning about adaptations and working within a specialist area of OT and a commitment to lifelong learning and maintaining knowledge of Occupational Therapy and adaptation best practice
+ Ability to travel around Bristol.
+ In addition, you will need good IT skills, as all assessments and documentation are completed using a laptop.

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.
