KW Therapy is looking for a full or part-time Specialist Occupational Therapist with an interest in Neurology and/or Paediatrics. Based in Chorley, KW Therapy is a small, but growing, company and a welcoming and exciting place to work. You will join a team who are dynamic, fun, experienced and who have a passion for clients that can't be missed. Joining us will entail working in the community and office, therefore, travelling within the North West is essential but there is the opportunity for some home working and flexible working hours.
This role is an excellent opportunity to have a small and realistic caseload, to focus your input on what each client needs and not be constrained. You must be confident and friendly, with the ability to work with clients from a range of age groups and backgrounds. As the clients have differing needs, you must be willing to adapt your methods and be flexible to match their requirements.
You will need to be competent in carrying out initial assessments to evaluate physical, cognitive, sensory and perceptual skills within home and community environments. With the ability to create a bespoke report reflecting the needs of the client from an Occupational Therapy perspective. Rehabilitation will involve developing client-centred goals and devising bespoke treatment programmes. Occupational Therapy Assistants can assist to deliver the input required in the rehabilitation programme. Rehabilitation programmes may involve assessment and prescription of equipment, adaptations to enhance independence, accommodation and independent living, cognitive and fatigue management, and upper limb rehabilitation.
You need to be an effective communicator with the ability to handle challenging behaviour in order to create the best possible outcome for our clients. Building rapport with the client's family is extremely important, as is liaising with and acting as part of a variety of multi-disciplinary teams [including legal teams].

About you:
A recognised Occupational Therapy qualification, HCPC-registered.

Specialist knowledge or interest in Neurology, specifically brain injury
Exceptional verbal and written skills.
