We are seeking a compassionate and experienced HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist to join a group of specialist therapeutic schools supporting children and young people aged 5 to 16 with a wide range of social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), autism, ADHD, and other complex behavioural profiles. This role involves working across both primary and secondary settings, offering therapeutic support to students who have struggled to thrive in mainstream education.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy interventions to students in therapeutic school environments
Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to support the development and delivery of individualised education and therapy plans
Conduct assessments and provide reports and recommendations for students with a wide range of SEN and SEMH needs
Provide training, advice, and support to educational staff to help implement therapy strategies within classroom settings
Monitor and review therapy input and progress, adjusting interventions as necessary
Support a caseload of students across multiple school sites in Great Baddow and South Woodham Ferrers
Requirements:
HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist (required)
Minimum of Band 6-level experience working with children and young people in educational settings
Strong understanding of SEN, SEMH, autism, ADHD, and complex behavioural needs
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work autonomously across different school sites
Desirable:
Experience within therapeutic or specialist education environments
* Additional training or qualifications in sensory integration or related approaches
