Department: Children's Occupational Therapy

Location: Callaghan House

Shift Pattern: 30 hours per week

Pay rate: 24.82

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Children's Occupational Therapist to join their team where you will deliver a high standard of care.

Main duties of the job



To undertake holistic assessments, clinical diagnosis and treatments and support staff with those children who present with complex needs. To develop care plans accordingly and review /evaluate these plans as needed. This will involve the use of advanced clinical reasoning skills

To advise children, parents, carers staff, other professionals and third sector organisations with regards to their area of expertise.

To take appropriate action to deal with safeguarding situations and to communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team to promote child safety and the management of risk.

To identify appropriate treatment approaches and techniques based on sound knowledge of evidence based practice and best practice guidelines and inform the Service Lead as appropriate.

To support Service Lead to develop action plans for individual staff where there are areas of concern identified in relation to clinical practice

To be successful in applying for this role you will need:



A degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Therapy.

HCPC registration

HIVE and community equipment services - but not essential

Discharge planning and pathways experience
