Are you a qualified or about-to-qualify Occupational Therapist looking for a supportive place to begin or grow your career? Or a Band 5 OT ready for a new challenge?



This is an excellent opportunity for an OT with an interest in older adult rehabilitation to join a high-quality ward therapy team, supporting patients to regain independence and return home safely.



Based mainly at St Mark's Hospital, Maidenhead, with some cross-cover at Upton Hospital, Slough, you'll join a close-knit inpatient team of OTs, physios and therapy assistants. You'll manage a varied caseload of adults with complex needs and gain valuable experience in a dynamic MDT where learning and development are actively supported.

Day to day, you'll be:

Assessing patients and creating personalised rehab plans



Supporting or running groups such as falls prevention and exercise



Working closely with patients, families and the wider MDT



Supporting therapy assistants and supervising students



Joining ward rounds, case conferences and discharge planning

The post will be part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team within an inpatient setting which will offer assessment and treatment for patients in the east of Berkshire. The role will involve:



Being responsible for your own caseload using an interdisciplinary, patient focused rehabilitative approach with support from the senior therapists.

Providing supervision and guidance to band 3 and 4 support workers in the therapy team and making recommendations to the wider MDT to support with the education of students.

Being involved in QI and contributing to the planning, development, and evaluation of the service.

The "must haves" for this role:

Qualified (or about to qualify) Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration



A passion for working in a rehabilitation or intermediate care setting



UK driving licence with access to a vehicle or equivalent ability to travel effectively.



Willingness to participate in a 6-day rota.
