HMP Millsike is a newly built prison with an operational capacity of 1500 places. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a new healthcare team from the inception of a brand new prison site.
In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.

Monday to Friday - 08:30 - 16:30
This is a part-time role working 30 hours per week and flexible working hours can be considered.
Salary
You'll receive an annual salary up to
47,466
per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Occupational Therapist, your responsibilities will vary. You will
Be responsible for the provision of occupational therapy assessment, treatment and evaluation.
Provide visible and professional support to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and rehabilitation aimed at improving or maintaining independence.
Working with a caseload of patients with varying difficulties including complete health and social care needs; responding effectively to the changing needs of the patient caseload, managing the sometimes conflicting priorities of prevention of admission and discharge.
You'll assess and order equipment as identified by patient need and allocate work to OT assistant or care staff as necessary. Establishing communication networks with other team members, patients and other health and social care agencies, attending joint visits with other professionals as required.

Requirements
Diploma/ degree in occupational therapy with current professional qualification (HCPC)
Post registration experience and evidence of Continued Professional Development
Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards
Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
