We are recruiting for a part-time Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Woodlands House in Aylesbury.
Woodlands House is a 20-bed, low-secure forensic mental health inpatient unit that provides medium-term care for men and women in conditions of low security. It is part of the Thames Valley Forensic Mental Health Service and is located on the Whiteleaf Centre site in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.

The Recovery Approach is about finding and maintaining hope, re-establishing a positive identity, building a meaningful life, and taking responsibility and control.
You'll work under the supervision of our OTs to carry out routine occupational therapy interventions and basic assessments with clients, provide administrative support to the team and facilitate therapeutic groups.

Carry out routine occupational therapy intervention and basic assessments with clients as directed by OTs.
Evaluate OT interventions delegated by the OT
Provide administrative support to the occupational therapy team with the development of occupational therapy resources, and preparation of materials for intervention.
Support the occupational therapy team with the facilitation of therapeutic groups.
To be an active member of the Woodlands team, recording and updating clinical records and sharing information with the multidisciplinary team.
Use practical and technical skills with patients to assist them in meeting individual need-based goals, as directed by the OT case managing the patient and their wider clinical team.
Plan and co-ordinate a program of therapeutic activities with the wider OT team and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Assist in identifying patient's strengths and needs in order to plan and implement suitable therapy interventions for groups and individual patients
