About the role





We are seeking an OE Advisory Specialist, working 2 days a week for a fixed term period of 9 months.



To design the Operational Excellence (OE) architecture for Smiths news, offering expert advice, knowledge and guidance on the successful design, implementation and sustainability of (OE). Working closely with the central OE team, and other leaders of the business to coach and support the adoption of adopt new OE skills, methods and approaches to driving consistency and sustainable operational improvement.



Bringing new resources, materials, thinking and approaches to SN to help with the OE objectives supported by coaching and development to drive the OE capability across the business.




Key Accountabilities





Driving the OE principles, focusing on the initial prioritised 5 (Committed Leadership, Right First Time, Standardisation, Visual Management & Go, See, Do)



Designing OE activities and interventions to improve operational performance and enhance colleague capability in the use of 'Think Work Behave' model and supporting tools and techniques.



Acting as mentor and coach to OE Design and Implementation Manager, Director of Strategy and Change and central OE team supporting with their objectives to design and implement and OE culture within SN.



Supporting and coaching and development of Operational Leaders, as appropriate with their OE development and journey



Advising as required to support SN's development of a Customer Excellence/Engagement model, with particular attention to its integration with the OE architecture


About you





Extensive experience in designing and implementing OE across a range of sectors and functions.



Extensive experience in designing and leading focused improvement events resulting in validated step change in efficiency, key performance indicators and enhancing colleague knowledge and capability



Expertise in material flow design and layout optimisation



Highly skilled in influencing internal stakeholders and external clients and effectively engaging with all levels of business



Excellent communication skills; verbal, written, presenting



Extensive experience in coaching, mentoring and training in the delivery of OE



Experience of leading and inspiring and knowledge transfer
