The role requires a friendly, outgoing engaging person who is organised and computer savvy. You will be required to welcome people at the front desk, respond to inbound emails and enquiries. Manage and update the office systems, including data bases, spreadsheets, emails and files. Conduct viewings and inspections and assist in allocations and tenancy generation. You will be required to liaise with Facilities to ensure maintenance issues are addressed promptly and properly. Assistance with check in and check outs as well as other ad-hoc duties.

The events at our properties are run through our Residence Life programme which is an essential part of building a positive student experience for our residents and is aimed at facilitating opportunities to make friends and to support academic success and personal growth. In conjunction with the Accommodation Manager, the role requires overseeing event organisation, facilitation and execution across 5 accommodation buildings. Ensuring each event is well documented with feedback and photography. The role also oversees the communication via our local social media account.

We have a team of on-site student Resident Coordinators who work in shifts to assist with the events organisation and facilitation as well as acting as evening on-call wardens. You will support and work closely with them to delegate duties, host regular meetings and coordinate their rotas.

Key Duties & Responsibilities



The duties for this role include but are not limited to:

Facilitate viewings of the accommodation for prospective students. Working together with the accommodation team to conduct sales and hit occupancy targets. Completing day to day administrative duties, including responding to inbound enquiries via telephone, email and in person. Working collaboratively with the accommodation team to help the overall city team deliver its objectives, supporting colleagues, suggesting improvements and sharing best practice. Supporting the summer room turnaround, such as check in's/outs and flat inspections. Supporting the site team in providing the highest standards of safety, welfare and wellbeing for all residents. Offering help and guidance to residents, signposting to the relevant professional support services organised by the resident's Universities. Undertake any additional duties and tasks as requested by the Accommodation Manager. Delivering exceptional customer service. Responsible for the execution of the Residence Life Programme across all 5 sites. Producing a variety of events throughout the year that are all inclusive and promote opportunities for students to socialise, learn new skills and achieve academic success. Recording event attendance and feedback to be used for reporting to the Accommodation Manager and Mezzino partners. Liaising with the Accommodation Manager to track and monitor the Residence Life Programme budget. Raising purchase orders for the events and managing and reporting petty cash. Overseeing the social media channels and ensuring they are relevant and up to date with recent events. Engaging students in all aspects of the student's experience including but not limited to reviews.

Skills & Experience



The successful candidate will have skills in:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a sociable attitude. Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing tasks. An understanding and competence in excel and computer systems. Customer service experience. Ability to work under pressure and use initiative. Honest & reliable. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team. Flexible approach to duties & hours. Positive and approachable attitude.

Desired experience in:



Creating a Residence Life or similar programme of activity for students. Working with students and an understanding of their needs Working for a Student Accommodation or University.

Training



All members of the Accommodation Team receive a comprehensive training package to ensure they have the knowledge and confidence to perform their role and ensure the safety of students and site. This package will include:

Working hours



The standard hours of work are 30 hours per week (days of work to be agreed with successful candidate) with occasional overtime at weekends and out of hours required during events and tenancy change overs.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.52 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
