Are you a highly organised, dynamic individual with a passion for supporting a bustling school community? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive part-time office assistant to join our friendly school office team!

Based in a busy Primary Academy, you will be at the heart of the school's daily operations. Working collaboratively with the rest of the office team and the wider school community, you will play a vital role in ensuring the office runs efficiently and effectively.

You'll be one of the first points of contact for pupils, parents, visitors, and staff. You'll be an ambassador for the school, helping to create an outstanding first impression.

Your diverse and exciting responsibilities will include:

Being the welcoming face and voice of the school, handling telephone calls, dealing with queries, and communicating vital information to stakeholders, including parents, regarding clubs, pupil illness, school trips, and notices. Providing essential secretarial support to school staff, producing well-presented and accurate documents. Utilising the school's management information system (Arbor) to input data, create, and maintain accurate pupil records, including student house team allocations. You'll need to be prepared to undertake necessary Arbor training. Keeping the school community informed by updating the school's website and ensuring information is accurate. Supporting student welfare by dealing with minor injuries and administering first aid. You will ideally hold relevant first aid qualifications and be willing to attend training for specific medical conditions. Maintaining accurate health records and liaising with the School Nurse are also key. Assisting with attendance and school meals administration, ensuring correct attendance marks are entered and liaising with the school kitchen daily regarding meals and dietary requirements. This includes assisting with chasing parents/carers regarding absences. Helping to make exciting educational visits and extra-curricular activities happen by assisting with bookings, costing, completing paperwork, and liaising with parents and club providers. Supporting the school by assisting with setting up payment items, banking, and proactively chasing outstanding monies. You'll also manage wraparound care registers, requests, and payments. Playing a role in safeguarding by ensuring visitors are signed in and out correctly and adhere to school procedures. You will actively promote the safeguarding of all pupils and adults and adhere to statutory guidance. Assisting with Health & Safety and Security checks, including using the visitor logging system and helping with emergency evacuation procedures. Managing minibus bookings and assisting with ordering and deliveries
To thrive in this role, you will need:

A minimum of 2 years of recent experience working in an office environment. Excellent ICT skills, including Google Level 1 training. Excellent numeracy and literacy skills. The ability to plan and develop systems. The ability to relate well to children and adults. The capacity to work constructively as part of a team. The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines, prioritising tasks effectively. A willingness to undertake training as appropriate.
