The A1 Steam Locomotive Trust is a charity based in Darlington, dedicated to the building and mainline operation of brand new steam locomotives.

Office Manager
Based at Darlington Locomotive Works, the purpose of the Office Manager role is to manage the administrative, customer service and other processes of the Trust either directly or through the Administration Team.
The role is key to the financial success of the Trust identifying trends on income and ensuring income is maximised. In conjunction with the Site Manager, the role is responsible for the building management and H&S, including mandatory testing of fire systems.
The role both leads the small office team in the delivery of objectives as well as holding its own portfolio of key areas.
Responsibilities:
Timely and efficient booking and management of rail tours as required.
Assist the Accountant in the management of the companies PAYE and pension schemes, ensure timely payment of salaries, HMRC and NEST pension settlements.
Manage the bank processes for cash and cheques, ensuring all money received is banked and accounted for in line with financial procedures.
Manage the processing of card payments - principally through TakePayments interface and Zettle.
Manage the company filing systems - principally through Sharepoint and OneDrive.
Monitor and report on income performance, covenantor, donor and supporter stewardship and management.
Manage the companies IT systems, manage the contract with Duocall the third-party support contractor.
Manage the buildings facilities & systems, including security, fobs, cctv. and alarm systems.
Manage contractors in conjunction with the Site Manager, liaise with landlord (Darlington Borough Council) as necessary.
Organise and manage events in Darlington and around the country including the Annual dinner, Annual Convention, roadshows and a series of open days at the Darlington site.
Manage merchandise including ad-hoc sales, stock replenishment and control, ensure all monies received are processed efficiently and effectively.
Liaise with the Marketing & Communications Director for social media and news releases.
Qualifications and experience:
Demonstrable leadership and organisation abilities
Experience and abilities in Customer Service
Good working knowledge of MS Office and IT systems
Experience of CRM systems
Payroll and HR experience.

Self starter
Ability to manage team delivery as well as deliver hands-on results
Personable
Excellent organisation skills.
