are recruiting for a new

Offline Programmer & Machinist

for our Machine shop in

Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

We manufacture precision made parts from various materials used for internal and external Customers. We specialise in small batches and prototypes.

A good working knowledge of working with plastics, steel, magnesium, titanium, and aluminium will be required.

Key responsibilities and tasks

Offline programming with Powermill Software on 3-axis and 5-axis milling machines. CNC programme rectification and programme problem solving. Read and correctly interpret engineering documentation. Optimise production techniques to increase efficiency. Keep track of the cost of each production job, maintaining data which is relevant to provide realistic and achievable production job costing information. Train other members of the team and supervise colleagues as and when requested. Devise manufacturing processes using correct methods of machining. Ensure a professional, quality service (external and internal) is provided at all times.

Skills:

Strong experience in Heidenhain controls. Knowledge of Powermill CAD/CAM software and associated machining processes Abilities to set and or operate other tool-room machine-shop equipment.
