Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Animal Science Tutor to join our online teaching team. This role is ideal for a zoologist, veterinary professional, or animal biology specialist with a passion for education and adult learning.

You will deliver engaging online sessions, provide academic guidance, and support students studying our Access to Higher Education Diplomas in Animal Science and Veterinary Science. These qualifications prepare adult learners for university-level study in fields such as zoology, veterinary medicine, wildlife conservation, and animal behaviour.

The courses are fully coursework-based (no exams) and regulated by AIM Qualifications. They include a range of subject areas such as animal anatomy and physiology, animal health and welfare, genetics, behaviour, and ecological studies, alongside academic and research skills.

Key Responsibilities

Lead live online tutorial sessions (starting at 2 hours per week, with potential for more hours) Provide constructive feedback and academic support on assignments and coursework Offer one-to-one guidance and mentoring to students when required Help learners develop essential study and research skills for higher education Ensure materials and recorded sessions are available for flexible, self-paced learning Monitor student engagement and progress, liaising with programme coordinators as needed
What We're Looking For

A degree (or higher) in Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Zoology, or a related field Experience teaching or mentoring adult learners (online experience preferred) Excellent communication and organisational skills A genuine passion for supporting students' educational journeys The ability to teach remotely from a quiet, professional workspace
Additional Information

Pay: 30 per lesson (this includes preparation time). Additional 1:1 support, marking and assessment work can be invoiced at the same rate. Contract: Self-employed (you are responsible for your own tax). Duration: Tutors must be able to commit to the full academic year to ensure continuity for learners. Flexible hours and full remote working.
