About the Role
The Open Access Operations team sits within Springer Nature's Sales Operations group and is responsible for the end-to-end management of institutional and society open access agreements.
As an Open Access Coordinator, you'll be a team player who is responsible for the set up and maintenance of open access agreements at Springer Nature. You will manage a diverse range of internal stakeholders and tasks, to execute smooth operations behind the agreements. You'll focus on continuous improvement of workflows and processes to ensure contractual compliance, great service, and scalability for the open access agreements.
Using insights from workflow data, you'll suggest new processes and system improvements. Working with the rest of the OA Operations team, you'll implement these improvements to help reach team goals and provide excellent service to our customers.

Role Responsibilities
Coordinate the set-up and day to day operations for OA agreements
Collaborate effectively with other teams at Springer Nature to coordinate the end to end set-up of new and renewed OA agreements
Adhere to set-up timelines, complete set up documentation and effectively communicate updates about new/renewing agreements to stakeholders, to ensure well executed kick offs
Ensure compliance with OA agreement contractual obligations by continuously monitoring the publishing services workflow, using data available from multiple systems
Engage with the performance of the agreements; join up customer behaviour with workflow data in order to suggest continuous improvements to workflows and processes
Create and present workflow information to both internal and external audiences, supporting the success of the agreements
Continuous improvement of team workflows and processes
Delivery of high quality customer service through efficient working practices
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations
Work with the whole OA Operations team to reduce waste/inefficiency in team workflows, aligning processes
Use workflow data to monitor workflows and identify areas for improvement
Work with the rest of the OA Operations team to drive positive improvements in workflows and processes for the OA agreements and their associated customers/internal stakeholders
Create and maintain guidelines and documentation for internal and external use
Main point of contact for OA agreement customers
Accurate and timely responses to queries related to articles, workflows and reporting around the institutional agreement
Provide excellent customer service, OA support and training to OA customers and internal stakeholders
Relationship building with external and internal teams linked to the OA agreement, providing up to date information on the operational status when required
Liaise with OA Commercial and sales teams to provide account management for the customer
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Essential
Educated to degree level (Bachelor or higher) or equivalent experience
Ability to quickly understand different workflows, systems and their dependencies and interaction.
Excellent documentation and visualization skills
Experience of working cooperatively with a range of stakeholders, internal and external
Ability to analyze and interpret data, leading to clear action points
Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills, with attention to detail
Proven ability to manage concurrent responsibilities and competing priorities
Ability to work to tight deadlines and react quickly to changing priorities
Good interpersonal and communication skills for handling projects with cross-departmental scope
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
High level of initiative and self-motivation
Ability to explain complex issues in a clear and concise way
Desirable
Previous work experience in a sales operations or research publishing environment
Experience with Excel and CRM software
