GYS Ltd. are currently looking to recruit for a permanent Open Spaces Supervisor within our Open Spaces Department.
The role reports directly to the Open Spaces Assistant Grounds Managers who lead and manage the GYS Open Spaces Department teams across the Great Yarmouth Borough.
The Open Spaces Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of GYS Open Spaces staff who carry out a wide range of horticultural and grounds maintenance work to required standards.
This includes within parks, fine turf facilities, sports fields, open spaces, cemeteries, and other landscaped areas as well as GYBC Community housing communal areas.
They are to ensure the safe, efficient, and economical completion of works, including the completion of paperwork and admin tasks to ensure a well-run department.
The successful candidate will be required to work within the small management team with a minimum of supervision and be able to carry out physical tasks associated with the role.
Working week pattern as follows:
37 hours per week;
Monday to Thursday 07:30am to 16:00pm
Friday 07:30am to 15:30pm

About You
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they have the following skills, knowledge, and work experience:
NPTC in relevant use of horticultural equipment or relevant experience.
NPTC (pesticides) Sprayer Certificate (PA1/PA2)
Knowledge of how to operate a tractor and its implements, ride on mowers and understanding of requirements for a wide range of machinery and operations for all weather conditions, growing and soil conditions.
Level 3 Winter Pitches (Advanced turf culture) or equivalent qualification
Level 3 Diploma in work-based Horticulture or similar applicable qualification.
A working knowledge of MS word, MS excel & outlook.
