LV= Life & Pensions have an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join as our Operational Assurance Analyst, on a fixed-term, nine-month contract.
As an Operational Assurance Analyst you will support one or more of the following:
Technical and complex administrative support and guidance to CAEXP and wider teams, ensuring all key regulatory and legislative requirements are being adhered to
Maintaining accurate process maps and information pertaining to LV's Important Business Services, enabling us to comply with both FCA & PRA regulations
The delivery of the key objectives of the business by analysing operational and change activities, identifying opportunities and making recommendations to relevant stakeholders, planning and delivering change and service configuration activities
Remediating risk events and incidents relevant to CAEXP, to identify root cause and drive the fix of issues to mitigate customer detriment, including the accountability for closing out risk events of a significant impact to customers
The role is linked to our Bournemouth office - we're looking for someone who can be in the office 3 days per week.
About You
Have some financial services experience in the Life insurance sector with knowledge of heritage products preferred.
Some knowledge and experience of operating within the FCA and PRA's regulatory regimes preferable
Prior experience of process mapping & workshop facilitation/outcomes/planning
Proven ability to quickly develop relationships with a broad range of SMEs
Strong team player
Ability to apply technical expertise pragmatically to ensure commercially effective application of standards and advice
Work under pressure and deal with a variety of tasks simultaneously whilst meeting strict deadlines
The ability to work on your own on complex cases whilst also helping your team deliver on targets
Proactively consider the evolving needs of the business, and our changing industry
Will have the ability to make effective judgements from diverse and conflicting information
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed understanding of & ability to apply LV's Operational Resilience methodology
Have regular engagement with process and service owners
To monitor and carry out regular reviews of process notes and embed within the business
Support operational MI & reporting including to relevant committee monthly updates, Board and Board Risk Committee reporting - attendance to relevant committees also required
Take responsibility for preventing, identifying, and reporting potential risk events in your area of the business ensuring risks and issues are reported and triaged appropriately
To support the effective implementation of regulatory and legislative changes into CAEXP through the review and approval of solutions delivered via audit, project, BAU, or legislative initiatives
Deliver training where required on products, processes and the associated regulations and legislation
o identify and record systemic causes of technical queries and to recommend changes to processes and systems to prevent recurrence, through reference to the policies set by the product areas and root cause analysis
Processing high risk and regulatory control reports and manual workarounds including but not limited to CASS, SIPP borrowing, Unit Linked Accounting, Waived Premiums, Chargeable Events and any processes relating to policyholder tax
Develop and maintain key relationships across the business including CAEXP Functional teams, Risk & Compliance, Product Technical and Finance to actively manage and monitor controls, risk, compliance requirements and actions
Remediate open risk events and issues, working with a customer lens to drive fixes and positive outcomes, demonstrates a clear understanding of the CAEXP risk appetite and ensuring action is taken in line with these
Complete root cause analysis to identify risk causes and complete trend analysis, spotting and escalating trends accordingly
Maintain oversight of manual control reporting and cascade status to relevant stakeholders
Be the voice of the customer and champion good customer outcomes
Monitor and analyse operational activities and challenge the status quo to help improve efficiency and resolve issues
Facilitate recommendations to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our customer and people's experience.
