About the Opportunity

Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland\'s first Nuclear Power station.

Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

As the Operational Development Engineer (Periodic Testing) youy will be responsible for supporting the NNB Pre-Operations Surveillance Programmes Lead in the delivery of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) operational documentation and strategy for the delivery of the Periodic Testing Programme. You also will be required to produce the periodic testing operations instructions (PTOI\xe2\x80\x99s), as well as assist in the shaping and development of the processes required to deliver the Periodic Testing programme in the operational station. This includes analysis of technical documentation from the designer, such as engineering drawings, technical specifications, and test instructions. Key responsibilities will be:

  • Authorship of periodic testing operating instructions
  • Conduct technical analysis of plant components and equipment
  • Analysis of technical documentation
  • Assist in the development of other Surveillance Programme requirements as required for the operational station
  • Understand & assist in the scheduling activities for the output of the Periodic Testing Surveillance programme
  • Verification of documentation
  • Maintain interfaces and develop relationships (technical & functional) with other HPC departments
  • Research operating experience from the wider industries applicable to the HPC project
Here\xe2\x80\x99s What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Need:
  • Minimum HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline
  • Experience in the production of work instructions or procedures
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Experience of mechanical/electrical/C&I plant systems
  • Able to develop work plans and deliver them safely and efficiently
  • Have experience of working in a project environment
  • Experience of dealing with a wide range of suppliers and customers (UK based and international)
