About the team




Operational Due Diligence (ODD) is Albournes largest investment function with 130 employees across North America, Europe and Asia.


We provide our clients with a thorough analysis of all non-investment related aspects of an investment managers business and prepare a written research report which outlines risks and recommendations. This includes reviewing an investment managers organization, investment operations, counterparty management, financing, valuation, information security, regulatory compliance, and employment practices.


As part of the ODD team, you will review funds with a diverse mix of strategies. You will have access to work collaboratively with a large group of peers, and you will have the opportunity for self-development through access to Albournes significant internal knowledge sharing resources and systems.


Job Summary & Purpose:




To conduct ODD across a broad range of alternative investment strategies, including the most complex managers with high report quality output and minimal supervision.


To proactively and independently contribute outside of report writing to internal and client content.


To assist in monitoring, mentoring & reviewing other Analysts & Associate Analysts.


Accountabilities:




Superior ability to evaluate the most complex alternative investment fund managers High level of knowledge about finance and the alternatives industry Monitor assigned funds and update written reports to reflect pertinent changes to the operational risks of those funds, in line with expectations for the role Prepare high quality, clear, accurate, concise reports, and recommendations to clients, in line with client and management deadlines, and expectations for the role High level of report production (without losing quality) and turnaround of a report should be possible at short notice Assist Team Leader in reviewing reports Demonstrate leadership in mentoring and training Analysts & Associate Analysts Provide accurate, timely and insightful responses to client ODD inquiries Develop relationships with local (and visiting) prospects and clients to support business development activities Attend and speak at local industry events as an ambassador for Albourne Assist in developing and implementing company best practices with respect to ODD Develop a network to stay current on industry standards and help to facilitate knowledge transfer within the ODD group and company Contribute ideas for client newsletter and intranet



Other Requirements:




At least six years' operational due diligence experience across a wide range of alternative investments Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and a strong presentational style Relevant professional qualifications (CFA, CAIA, ACA, ACCA) or equivalent experience Proactive self-starter, proficient time management and multi-tasking Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills. Competent in Excel, Word and PowerPoint Travel (occasional, typically within the EMEA region) Comply with terms of Albourne Compliance Manuals Abide by the ODD policies and procedures as well as the Albourne Groups policies and procedures, including, but not limited to IFFM; compliance reporting; Information, Communications & Cyber Security Policy; Expense & Travel Policy, etc. Attend company Offsites Regulatory registration (dependent on regional requirements) Report potential conflicts to compliance and work with compliance to ensure that conflict disclosures appear on research reports.
