Reporting directly to the Operations Investigations Manager, you will work in close partnership with both local and area management teams to investigate incidents thoroughly. The role will be to lead investigations into operational incidents as part of a collaborative investigation team, delivering timely, high-quality, and rigorously evidence-based reports. These reports will uphold the highest standards of impartiality and precision, enabling continuous improvement in operational safety and performance through the accurate identification of causes and the formulation of well-informed, actionable recommendations.
The role requires flexibility, excellent organisational and analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and an ability to interpret and understand technical data, underpinned by a commitment to conducting investigations that are impartial, respectful, and balanced. This ensures that all individuals involved are treated fairly, and that outcomes are informed by a just and transparent process.
Excellent communication skills are essential for this role, with the ability to engage clearly and confidently at all levels--both internally and externally. Your communication will play a key role in supporting the business in maintaining and advancing effective operational safety management.
We're looking for someone with proven experience in investigation and reporting, along with a strong understanding and practical application of fair culture principles--qualities that are highly desirable for this role.
As this is a safety-critical role, the successful applicant will be required to achieve Personal Track Safety medical certification.
