About the role

We are looking for an Operations Lead to join our site at Fort Halstead near Sevenoaks and work within a facilities management capacity to oversee the operations for Mechanical & Electrical maintenance on the TFM contract. You will need to be technically proficient and have experience mechanical and electrical experience.

You will be providing a high level of operations coordination, delegation and support and will be organising mechanical & electrical maintenance, managing contractors against KPIs, overseeing suppliers, holding planning meetings and audits as well of an array of different facility and operational tasks across the Property Operations Assets area of QinetiQ.

You will work across a range of different small and large-scale projects and will be working on our base in Sevenoaks and will have the opportunity to learn new skills and develop into and array of different areas across QinetiQ.

What do I need?

You will need to be able to demonstrate that you have proficient experience overseeing operations in facilities management.

We would also like you to have and/or be able to:

  • You will need to be technically proficient and have experience mechanical and electrical experience.
  • Providing direction and Governance by being aware of the benefits of learning to colleagues and understands the need to give colleagues fair, regular and useful feedback on their work performance, discussing and agreeing how they can improve
  • Manage Teams. This covers management of colleagues performance, team communication, conflict in the team and the promotion of staff wellbeing as well as ensuring the allocation and quality assurance of their work to build effective teams
  • A Proven ability to work successfully across facilities management

What will I be doing?
  • Covering the technical aspects whilst overseeing mechanical and electrical maintenance
  • Manage the availability of Property Operations Assets in an operationally safe and efficient manner through the aggregation and coordination of maintenance plans for all equipment and assets assigned
  • Prioritising work, reconciling conflicting demands, reviewing and revising timing of work to agreed deadlines, including Minor Works
  • Provide assurance to the GL Property Operations that all asset maintenance schedules are being adhered to and all contractual and regulatory documentation is up to date and accurate.
  • Manage contractors against their KPIs
  • Oversee suppliers, hold planning meetings and audits
  • Advising on management and supervision of maintenance of buildings and associated assets, including specialist advice to Projects
  • Lead in overseeing all actions raised from maintenance and audits are completed in a timely manner and to the correct standard.
