Take a lead in ensuring that the implications of all local and national strategies and policies are interpreted appropriately for the profession, using this interpretation to assist. To establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders (including commissioners, GHFT colleagues, Primary care colleagues, the private and voluntary sector) with the aim of promoting the service. To represent the service at, and contribute to GHC, ICB and ICS strategic and governance meetings. Using advanced communication skills ensure that colleagues from different partner organisations and patients are engaged with service developments and enabled to make a full contribution to the services programme of work. Decision-making within the Adult SLT service. Lead on the setting and monitoring standards for clinical practice and patient care and ensure professional teams have the right skills to deliver a high-quality service. Provide operational leadership and clinical expertise to Adult Speech and Language Therapy colleagues.
Lead by example, with authority to change practice and improve care; this includes interpretation and implementation of evidence, best practice and clinical guidance/standards across the service, including NICE guidance.
