Job Purpose:



Reporting to the Commercial Director, The Operational Stock Manager is responsible for the accurate, efficient, and safe management of all stock movements within the business. This includes oversight of goods-in and goods-out processes, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring all warehouse areas -- including mezzanines, chillers, and chambers -- operate to optimal efficiency and compliance. The role includes leadership of a dedicated team and cross-functional collaboration to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:



Stock Control & Inventory Management



Maintain accurate stock levels through regular stock counts, reconciliations, and cycle counts. Lead robust stock control procedures and reporting systems. Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies in a timely manner. Ensure stock integrity across ambient, chilled, and temperature-controlled environments.

Goods In / Goods Out Operations



Manage the end-to-end goods-in and goods-out processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. Coordinate with the Materials Manager and Commercial Director to manage inbound and outbound schedules. Ensure all incoming and outgoing deliveries are checked, recorded, and handled according to procedures. Maintain and improve turnaround times for delivery and dispatch.

Team Leadership & Development



Lead, coach, and manage a team of warehouse operatives, including goods-in/goods-out personnel. Ensure the teams GMP scores are maintained to the highest level. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Provide ongoing training to ensure high standards of stock handling and storage.

Warehouse & Facility Management



Oversee the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, including two mezzanine floors, chillers, and chambers. Ensure proper storage, layout optimization, and space utilization across all zones. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment. Coordinate with maintenance and facilities teams to ensure equipment and infrastructure are fit for purpose.

Health, Safety & Compliance



Uphold all health and safety standards, including those specific to chilled and temperature-controlled areas. Ensure full compliance with relevant food safety, hygiene, and quality standards. Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and implement corrective actions.

Key Skills & Experience:



Proven experience in stock/warehouse management within a fast-paced operational environment. Strong leadership and people management skills. Knowledge of chilled and ambient storage handling and inventory control. Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills. Understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.

Qualifications:



Forklift License (Counterbalance and Reach). Desirable - Experience in food or FMCG environments.
