Vision Survey is seeking a proactive and experienced Operations Manager to lead our operations team and enhance the efficiency of our processes across the organisation. This is combined with someone with Geospatial Experience who can also manage the Midlands Geospatial Team, until such time that the department has sufficient management resource to be self-sufficient. As part of our strong commitment to excellence in the construction industry, you will be crucial in ensuring that our projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
In this role, you will manage daily operations, develop strategies to streamline procedures, and collaborate with different departments to achieve our company objectives. Your leadership will be essential in fostering a positive work culture while driving performance and accountability.
Responsibilities
Oversee all Midland's Departments (Utilities, Geospatial, and Site Engineering), and manage the Midlands Geospatial Department, supported by local managers and assistants.
Lead recruitment initiatives that align with our ambitious growth objectives.
Act as the primary contact for branch-related inquiries, resolving issues or delegating tasks as needed.
Drive innovation and new service offerings in Geospatial, ensuring resources are competent and trained to the required levels.
Own and keep updated technical standards for delivering Geospatial work, sharing best practices and acting as an ambassador for Vision.
Drive the trainee development scheme for Geospatial and act as a mentor for individuals aiming to be chartered under the CICES.
Skillfully mediate interdepartmental disputes to safeguard the company's interests.
Ensure all team members are equipped with the necessary skills and training to meet our high standards.
Be responsible for the successful execution of all branch projects, ensuring they align with customer needs and internal standards.
Oversee the preparation and submission of authorised bids and proposals for the branch, following established protocols and fulfilling customer expectations.
Ensure compliance with company standards concerning quality, health and safety, environmental practices, budget management, and timely project delivery.
Track the performance of branch departments to ensure they achieve agreed performance metrics and stay within project budgets.
Facilitate the planning and attendance of key personnel during audits for Quality and Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E), ensuring adherence to established protocols.
Collaborate with Head Office to maintain excellence in process management and performance across project/task based work packages.
Complete technical talks at events and to our clients.
