The Role
Based in our Braintree office, we are looking for a motivated, individual to join our Billing Operations team. This is a role for a candidate with an eye for detail and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial information. You might be studying for AAT and looking to develop, or you might be an experienced administrator looking for a new challenge. We operate a hybrid working model with three days in the office a week and will also consider flexible part-time working hours for this role. The main duties will include:
Undertaking the invoicing process for various entities within our business, raising and issuing invoices to energy suppliers
Processing invoices accurately and to monthly deadlines
Managing queries directly with energy suppliers and explaining information provided as required
Entering details to Sage and sales ledger
Shadowing / supporting month end activities and other activities as required by the Finance Team to develop financial knowledge
Producing billing information as requested by other teams
Supporting other team members to ensure that financial processes run smoothly and that deadlines are met
Sharing knowledge, skills and expertise across the Billing Operations team and the wider MELL team.
The Person
We are looking for a highly organised person who can manage their workload and meet deadlines. Ideally you will be studying for or willing to study AAT qualifications. There is potential for further study support in this role. In addition, you will have:
IT literacy with experience of using Microsoft Office, including Excel and the ability to learn and use internal IT systems
Interpersonal and communication skills to work with colleagues internally and respond to energy suppliers externally
Good organisational skills to enable you to prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines
Attention to detail and accuracy
A willingness to share knowledge, skills, and experience with others
A curious mind with the initiative to question, explore and innovate
A focus on learning and willingness to take responsibility for your own development
We operate a flexible hybrid working model with 3 days per week in the office and 2 days per week working from home. You'll be expected to attend in the office during your induction period whilst learning about the role.
