This is a pivotal, high-impact role reporting to the Managing Director, where the

Operations Director

will lead and align our operations, procurement, quality, and programme management functions. You'll embed the Farrat Operating System, build a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure our operations deliver efficiency, safety, and quality while supporting sustainability and long-term business growth.

A brief snapshot of the role:



Provide full leadership of operations across both UK and German sites, ensuring consistent quality, efficiency, and service delivery. Develop and embed the Farrat Operating System to drive consistency of process and behaviours across all locations. Champion continuous improvement, embedding Lean, Six Sigma, and visual management systems to achieve measurable, sustainable results. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing operations team across functions including production, procurement, quality, and supply chain. Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to shape operational strategy, capital investment priorities, and long-term objectives. Own operational budgets, driving efficiency and cost control without compromising quality or safety. Lead sustainability and environmental programmes, embedding ISO14001 principles and delivering measurable reductions in waste and carbon footprint. Act as the senior responsible person for health, safety, and environmental compliance across both UK and German sites. Drive supplier performance, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery targets are consistently achieved. Lead change management and integration initiatives, unifying operations into a consistent, high-performance model.

What we're looking for:



Proven leadership experience in operational roles within manufacturing or industrial environments, ideally across multiple sites. Strong track record leading cross-functional teams including production, procurement, quality, and supply chain. Demonstrated success in implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent understanding of manufacturing systems (MRP/ERP) and operational process development. Skilled in leading change and embedding sustainable improvements across diverse teams and locations. Strong financial management capabilities with experience owning operational budgets and delivering cost efficiencies. Experience in sustainability and environmental leadership, ideally with knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO14001. Willingness to travel regularly between UK and German sites. Relevant qualifications in operational management or engineering, with Lean Six Sigma certification and IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) preferred.
