PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 40,500-50,500 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact
Incident response: Initiate response to service disruption of broadcast critical systems and equipment, and support proactive measures aimed at preventing recurrence. Accurately recording incidents including technical response and action taken
Monitor and support broadcast systems: Using a diverse range of broadcast and production monitoring tools to identify and resolve complex service impacting issues across a range of technologies and platforms
Collaboration: Communicate clearly with engineers, specialists, programme makers, technical teams, and stakeholders to maintain operational continuity and effective shift handovers.
Diagnose and Repair: Troubleshoot faults and carry out repairs on broadcast and IT equipment, maintaining system reliability and preventing repeat issues.
Promote Safety and Inclusion: Uphold health and safety standards while contributing to an inclusive team culture that supports collaboration and wellbeing.
Your Skills And Experience
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Hands-on experience supporting radio, TV and online broadcast systems and have knowledge of equipment including audio desks such as DHD, Studer or Lawo, talkback systems, e.g. Reidel, and audio editing software, e.g. dira, in live and post-production environments.
  • Skilled in using monitoring tools for incident detection and prevention, e.g. Nagios, checkMK.
  • Proven ability to calmly diagnose and resolve broadcast faults under pressure, ensuring uninterrupted transmission.
  • Capable of producing clear technical documentation and communicating system issues across engineering and editorial teams.
  • Experience using ITSM and knowledge management platforms such as Confluence, Helix or Jira to record and share information.
  • Knowledge of current safety standards and experience working and contributing to an inclusive environment.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
  • Knowledge of Networking in Audio/Video Environments - Familiarity with IP audio/video, streaming protocols, and networked media systems.
  • Understanding of ITIL Framework - Awareness of ITIL principles and service management best practices.
  • Experience in Media or Creative Environments - Exposure to broadcast, production, or post-production workflows.
  • Problem-Solving Methodologies - Ability to apply structured approaches to fault diagnosis and resolution.
  • Awareness of IT Security Standards - Understanding of security policies, procedures, and best practices in technical environments.
