Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit an Operations General Warehouse Manager at Turner Price. If you can demonstrate strong operational management skills, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and are flexible towards working hours, we would like to hear from you.

As the Operations General Warehouse Manager, you will be a valued member of the operations management team. You will be expected to manage the efficiency and continuous improvement of the warehouse departments providing direction to department heads.

This role will be hands on, and you are expected to work effectively alongside various teams within Turner Price. The business is growing and continually evolving and as a result flexibility in working hours is an essential part of the role which could involve occasional weekend cover.

Turner Price is a large Hull-based food wholesaler, with expertise in UK foodservice distribution, offshore ship suppliers and global exports. The business's foodservice division supplies over 2,500 operators across large parts of the UK. Turner Price customers include coffee shops, QSR operators, pubs, hotels, restaurants, schools, universities, care homes and hospitals.

Turner Price sells over 8,500 food, drink, consumables, kitchen essentials and tableware items. Recognised for their in-house produce and state-of-the-art butchery facility, customers can also purchase from a large range of fresh British meat, daily prepared vegetables, and quality fresh fruit & vegetables.

Hours:

Core hours between 8am to 5.30pm (some flexibility required)

Role Essentials

Plan, resource and ensure operational effectiveness of each shift with each department. Provide input into operation team reviews and appraisals, assisting line managers where necessary. Plan and provide holiday and sickness cover for team members where required. Assist the Operations Manager in maximising the operational efficiency of the department, as well as proposing cost reductions where possible, including the sharing of resources. Support HR with appropriate input and evidence gathering for investigation and disciplinary hearings. Maintain strong working relationships with all departmental heads. Play a full role in the delivery and support of staff training. Organise, attend and run daily operations meetings with a clear focus on effective communication . Maintain effective supervision of all staff and operations providing support, supervision and guidance where necessary. Monitor and support all operation teams in ensuring the delivery of their KPIs Analyse operational reports and take appropriate action to ensure continuous improvement Monitor and approve overtime expenditure within approved budgets Full team rotas Warehouse cleaning teams
