About the role

Our Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering business has a terrific opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our team working on projects across Scotland.

Balfour Beattys Ground Engineering business is positioned as the UKs leading specialist geotechnical contractor, drawing on its knowledge and expertise in delivering innovative piling and ground improvement solutions across all sectors, focussing on providing the solid foundations for buildings of any height, ranging from city skyscrapers to house foundation packages.

As an operations Manager, you will ensure the safety performance, financial performance and growth ambitions meet or exceed budgeted targets, deliver value and profitable margins. Leading, managing and advising on the geotechnical complexities of building in Scotland.

What you\'ll be doing

Some other key responsibilities will be:

  • Lead the work winning activities aligned to the Ground Engineering Scotland Business, to then progress to leading the delivery team.
  • Collaboration with the key BB Stakeholders within the relevant SBUs
  • Lead the strategy for the BBGE elements of the GE Scotland Business
  • Technical lead and expert for all Geotechnical interface solutions in Scotland.
  • Establish clear tender and preconstruction programmes with mid-bid reviews where
  • Lead the bid preparation maximizing opportunity, engaging assistance of the bid writing team when required.
  • Write the gate papers and lead the gate reviews, with support from the Pre-Construction
  • Ensure that the project operation and commercial teams have received an effective handover of bid documentation;
Who we\'re looking for

This position for an individual with the following:
  • Extensive previous experience in Key Customer and Bid Management
  • The ability to contribute effectively to BBGEs Strategic direction
  • Hold a valid CSCS card
  • Relevant qualifications or professional membership with the CIOB/ICE or RICS.
  • Astute Financial awareness with the ability to manage risk and opportunity.
  • Confident individual with the ability to lead, influence and communicate with others to deliver targets.
