Job Description


Morson are recruiting for our client, who deliver a range of essential infrastructure services within the water, energy, transport and telecommunications sectors in the UK & Ireland. They are seeking an Operations Manager to work on national contracts to install rapid and ultra rapid EV chargers and any associated power connections including sub-stations.

As the Operations Manager you will be part of our Net Zero EV team, who are responsible for several large EV framework contracts.

What do you need to be great at this role?

  • A Bachelor\'s degree in a relevant field such as civil engineering, construction management or other construction/ electrical related subject
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Skilled in managing risks
  • Have excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders, team members, and clients
  • Relationship Building \xe2\x80\x93 has the ability to listen to customer needs, being responsive to their concerns, and providing exceptional service
  • Can work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with other members of the EV team
  • Robust skills in Microsoft office software, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven track record in operations management in the electrical distribution industry
  • A deep understanding of the electrical distribution industry, including trends, competitors, and market conditions
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
  • Knowledge of working to the NERS accreditation
  • Knowledge of working to Distribution Network Operator policies and standards
  • Can lead the team and inspire them to achieve the project goals
  • Can manage time effectively to complete tasks within the given timeline
  • Can identify problems and come up with innovative solutions to overcome them
  • Can make informed decisions that align with the contract objectives
  • Knowledge of the CDM regulations
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of the administration of contracts (E.g. NEC, ICE & JCT suite of contracts)
  • Experience in supporting the commercial team in monthly cost and value reconciliations
Desirable
  • Have an understanding of the EV industry, including trends, suppliers, and market conditions
  • Familiar with renewable sources and technologies
