Job Description

Role Purpose


Oversee the day to day management and operational execution of ongoing cleaning contracts across all designated areas, while also driving business growth through obtaining, developing, and maintaining new client leads. This includes managing the full sales cycle from prospecting and relationship building to negotiation and closing deals ensuring sustainable growth alongside excellent service delivery.

Key Responsibilities



Business Development & Sales



Identify, research, and pursue new client leads within Manchester, Salford and surrounding areas. Manage the entire sales process: prospecting, qualifying opportunities, preparing proposals, delivering presentations, negotiating terms, and closing contracts. Maintain an active sales pipeline, updating progress regularly to management. Build strong client relationships to encourage repeat business, referrals, and long-term partnerships. Collaborate with Senior Management to align growth strategies with organisational goals.

Operational Management



Ensure delivery of cleaning services in line with agreed SLAs and client expectations. Develop and maintain operational plans, schedules, and staffing rotas in collaboration with the Cleaning Supervisor. Monitor and manage resources effectively, including equipment, materials, and staffing, to maximise efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Track operational budgets and expenditures, ensuring services are delivered within agreed financial parameters. Implement process improvements and new working methods to enhance productivity and service quality. Anticipate and respond to seasonal or event-driven fluctuations in demand, adapting plans to meet changing needs. Maintain strong visibility across all designated areas through regular site visits, audits, and performance checks. Ensure consistency of service delivery across all zones, while tailoring operations to meet specific client or site requirements. Prepare and deliver operational performance reports, including KPIs, cost savings, and efficiency gains, to management and stakeholders.

Team & People Management



Line manage the Cleaning Supervisor and provide leadership to the wider cleaning team. Set clear objectives, conduct regular 1:1s, and support performance development. Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and team engagement. Report staff performance, attendance, and welfare concerns

Stakeholder & Client Engagement



Act as the key liaison between Nordic and other stakeholders. Attend regular meetings to report on performance, progress, and opportunities. Manage client feedback, resolve complaints efficiently, and maintain high satisfaction levels. Build and maintain positive relationships with local businesses, BID partners, and new prospects.

Compliance, Health & Safety



Ensure all work complies with legislation, company policies, and risk assessments. Submit RAMs to clients Champion health and safety awareness across the contract. Investigate and report incidents or near misses. Oversee compliance with COSHH, manual handling, and PPE requirements.

Reporting & Administration



Provide regular reports on service delivery, staff performance, client engagement, and sales activities. Maintain documentation including risk assessments, training records, audits, and compliance logs. Contribute to internal reviews and audits to uphold high operational and business standards. Implement digital reporting systems where appropriate.

Quality Control



Ensure that the team's work consistently meets established quality standards. Conduct inspections and provide coaching to improve performance.

Desired Skills & Experience



Proven track record in sales, business development, or account management. IOSH/NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent). Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
