We are looking for an

Operations Manager

to join our team in Blackburn. This is a permanent, full-time role.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, 37.5 hours per week

Daily Duties



? Develop and support a strong management team.

? General process compliance measured by independent quarterly audits

? Ensure budgetary conformance (e.g. labour budget of approx. 1.3m to 2.7m, R&M of 39k to 399k)

? Seamless new client integration including attending meetings with clients.

? Client & Employee satisfaction measures

? Achievement of KPIs

Key responsibilities:



? Effective leadership of the site operations team.

? Manage resources to achieve agreed service level within Operations budget.

? Achievement of pre agreed KPIs.

? Management of all H&S practices on site (supported by H&S Manager).

? Management of all people practices on site to ensure conformance with legislation and Staci Values (supported by HR Advisor)

? Delivery of a plan of continual improvement.

? Training & development of site resources.

? Client interface to discuss performance, new business etc.

? Compliance to agreed operating processes.

? Attendance at cross functional meetings.

? Cooperate with other Operations departments to achieve goals.

? Communication with other Operations managers to share best practice, support departments to review site performance and to lead change at a site level, team members to provide updates on site performance and changes and senior leaders to update on site performance.

? Responsible for maintaining good relationships with Team Members in Operations.

? Using system data to anticipate order volumes, labour demands etc.

? Auditing warehouse practices and processes.

Critical Skills



? Effective leadership. An understanding of basic employment law and good leadership practices. A qualification such as ILM is advantageous. 'Manages with empathy, integrity & respect'.

? Financially astute. Understands the different costs of operating a warehouse and is aware of factors influencing EBITDA. 'Balances service with cost of delivery''

? Operational and strategic planning. Has great control of the day to day whilst making progress towards a 1-3 year plan for improvement. 'Makes confident, proactive & consultative decisions based on data''

? Excellent communicator. Able to communicate verbally and in written format with Team Members, Senior Managers and Clients. 'Adapts communication to the needs of their varying audiences '

? Results focused. Consistently achieves the goals of the site through excellent delegation, managing by objectives and clearly defined roles, responsibilities and standards. 'Sets themselves and others high goals and works doggedly to achieve them'

Essential Functional Competencies:



? H&S. A broad understanding of all H&S requirements within Warehousing. Ideally IOSH qualified.

? Stock management. Understands the inventory process and can identify risk areas relating to stock management.

? WMS. Has worked with several WMS and ideally has experience of enhancing the functionality of a WMS to bespoke needs.

? Warehouse Layout. Understands how to maximise space utilisation within a warehouse to optimise its capacity and efficiency.

? Continuous Improvement. Can identify waste in processes, identify potential points of failure and can lead a cross functional team in problem solving. Maybe Six Sigma qualified

? Team player. Understand the overall goals of Staci and support other departments to ensure we succeed together. 'Passes on the baton to others with care'
