Scratch is a VC-backed start up changing the way people access indoor golf. We are pioneering private self-service indoor golf bays.
Customers pay as they go or play as members and simply book by the hour, receive and unlock code for the golf bay any play.
The concept is automated, slick and (in our humble opinion) the best way to practise and play golf in urban areas. After obtaining proof of concept in our first site in London we recently received our first round of VC funding and are ready to grow.
Role Overview
As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all Scratch golf simulator bays are consistently open, fully operational, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. This hands-on role requires a proactive leader with a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple locations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of all unmanned golf simulator bays in the London area.
Monitor bay performance, uptime, and maintenance schedules to ensure optimal functionality.
Coordinate with technical teams and third-party vendors for timely repairs and upgrades.
Conduct regular site visits and remote checks to verify cleanliness, safety, and equipment standards.
Analyse operational data and customer feedback to identify and resolve issues quickly.
Implement and refine operational processes to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Manage inventory and logistics for consumables, spare parts, and supplies across all locations.
Prepare regular reports on bay performance, incidents, and maintenance activities for senior management.
Support the launch of new locations, including setup, testing, and staff training (if applicable).
Act as the primary point of contact for urgent operational matters, including out-of-hours emergencies.
Requirements
Proven experience in operations management, facilities management, or a related field--ideally within leisure, hospitality, or tech-enabled venues.
Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to operational challenges.
Excellent organisational and time-management abilities, with experience managing multiple sites.
Comfortable using technology and remote monitoring tools; familiarity with golf simulators is a plus.
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver results with minimal supervision.
Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
Flexibility to respond to urgent issues outside of standard working hours when necessary.
Full UK driving licence preferred.
