About us



North Air is responsible for providing into-plane services on behalf of major oil companies. We operate at 20 locations across the UK, where we carry out approximately 300 000 fuelling's per year. We aim to provide safe, reliable and efficient into-plane services to our customers' satisfaction.

The Salary for the Operations Supervisor is up to 46,160.50 DOE + 2,803.20 Shift Allowance.



This position will be on a rotation shift pattern Sunday - Saturday.



As the Operations Supervisor you will report directly to the Site manager and work closely with the North Air support functions such as Operations Integrity and Human Resources. The Key areas of responsibility will include, but not be limited to:

Operations



Supervise Operators and other Operations staff activities on the ramp and in the yard, ensuring that safe operations are maintained through correct working procedures. This is a key part of the role, and the expectation is that Supervisors will spend around 60% of their time on this activity Monitor stock levels to ensure that these are efficiently managed, ordering fuel as required or liaising with customers on fuel orders where there is more than one customer in the pool As required, carry out daily reconciliation stock control including emailing daily reports to customers Prepare, maintain, and monitor schedules of apron coverage ensuring that maximum efficiency is achieved in terms of paid hours, paying particular attention to the amount of overtime spend Control holiday absences through electronic system for all operational shift staff at the terminal, maintaining appropriate availability of staff for the operation Where appropriate, deputise for the Airport Manager in his absence. On an exceptional basis, assist with into plane operations during peak periods and/or times of staff shortage Maintain a maintenance plan, ensuring all planned and corrective maintenance is scheduled and carried out Monitor the quality and effectiveness of training being delivered by Training Champions through observation of training being delivered and through SOC's Control of Work - carry out duties of Authorised signatory and monitoring of General/Special work permits depending on level of training Authorised signatories for Security pass applications temp passes, ID, Vehicle etc Work closely with other supervisors and Manager, ensuring that an effective handover takes place during shift changeovers, briefing colleagues on any key issues and ensuring that this is logged as appropriate

People:



Monitoring the wellbeing of Operators, through observation, conducting regular 1-2-1's, making appropriate interventions where any risks are identified In conjunction with Manager, confirm through monitoring staff performance that attitudes and behaviours meet the levels of safety and performance required by North Air and making appropriate interventions as required, through annual appraisals and performance management Promote the ethos of the North Air Policy Statement Liaise with operations team to maintain positive industrial relations in accordance with the Company's HR Policies, Conditions of Employment, Code of Conduct etc Identify and conduct first stage disciplinary and grievance meetings as appropriate Absence monitoring through regular meetings for long term sick and return to work interviews. Review of absence history on return to work and intervention where necessary Coach and Mentor employees on suitable goals and actions and provide them with ideas and support in order to achieve these goals Maintaining confidentiality at all times of any matters brought to you unless discussing with Human Resources and the Management Team

Health and Safety:



In conjunction with other supervisors, ensure that a daily inspection of workplace is carried out and any issues are reported immediately. Immediate reporting and recording of any incidents, near misses and spills, investigate issues, taking any appropriate actions and reporting on outcomes. Carry out Safety Observations & Conversations (SOC's), record discussions and ensure any issues are acted upon promptly. Ensure all accidents and incidents are reported in accordance with company and statutory requirements. Carry out investigations, as required, and report on corrective actions taken within target dates Provide leadership and training in maintaining a safe working environment for all members of the operation team, ensuring that all team members receive and understand communications, procedure updates and any other Health & Safety information which is relevant to their role Coordinate and participate in HSE meetings including compiling minutes. Ensure the safety of staff, visitors/contractors and 3rd parties who are working on site, providing an appropriate site induction, and making appropriate interventions as and when required Review fitness for work of employees taking medication with OH, HR and Operations Integrity. Ensure promotion and adherence to the Safety Management System (SMS)

Customers:



Liaise as necessary with customers on all aspects of operations including delays, incidents, reports and near misses Represent North Air at airport meetings, customer visits and 3rd party audits / inspections Ensure customer safety and satisfaction is prioritised within the operational team Investigate and respond to customer queries and complaints. Implement any corrective / preventive measures resulting from these investigations

Ramp Users:



Represent the interests of North Air and its employees at Airport ramp safety meetings Encourage other ramp users to invest time and effort in safety initiatives proposed by North Air e.g. Brother's Keeper, Safe2go etc. Develop contacts with other ramp users to promote efficient and safe operations Participate in Airport & Local airline working groups, forums and safety meetings Ensure North Air is proactive in all matters relating to HSSE on the ramp

Skills & Experience:
