Role Purpose



The Operational Supervisor ensures the smooth and efficient on-site delivery of events and hospitality services to Nightcap's high standards. Acting as a key link between planning and execution, the role involves supervising staff, coordinating logistics, resolving issues in real time, and ensuring a first-class client experience.

Key Responsibilities



Event Operations



Oversee the on-site set-up, delivery, and breakdown of events (including weddings, corporate functions, brand activations, and private events). Coordinate with event planners, logistics teams, and suppliers to ensure seamless delivery of services such as bar operations, staffing, and equipment. Maintain oversight of timelines, workflows, staffing levels, and resources throughout each event. Proactively identify and resolve operational issues during events. Ensure all operations comply with health and safety, licensing, and legal requirements.

Team Leadership



Supervise event staff (bartenders, waiting staff, barbacks, and support crew) to deliver high standards of service and professionalism. Conduct pre-event briefings to communicate event plans, client expectations, and service standards. Monitor staff performance and provide real-time coaching and feedback. Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new operational staff when required.

Logistics & Resource Management



Ensure that equipment, stock, and materials are delivered to venues accurately and on time. Drive company vehicles, including large vans, to transport staff, stock, and event equipment safely and efficiently. Take responsibility for vehicle safety, cleanliness, and basic maintenance checks (e.g. fuel, tyres, fluids). Liaise with suppliers, transport teams, and contractors to manage event logistics. Oversee inventory control, stock rotation, and reduction of wastage. Manage the set-up of bar and service areas in accordance with operational and safety standards.

Client & Stakeholder Relations



Act as the on-site point of contact for clients, venues, and third-party suppliers. Monitor client satisfaction throughout events and respond promptly to requests or issues. Communicate last-minute changes or adjustments effectively to all relevant teams.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement



Produce post-event reports highlighting successes, challenges, and recommendations. Gather feedback from clients, staff, and partners to drive improvements. Participate in debrief sessions and suggest enhancements to operational processes. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, cost management, and client satisfaction.

Essential Experience & Qualifications



Minimum of 3 years' experience in an operational or supervisory role within events, hospitality, or catering. Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage teams in fast-paced environments. Excellent organisational, problem solving, and time management skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required. Working knowledge of UK health and safety, food hygiene, and licensing regulations. Full, clean UK driving licence (manual). Confident and competent in driving large vans (e.g. Luton or long-wheelbase vehicles). Experience with loading/unloading event equipment safely and efficiently.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience



Formal qualification in hospitality management, event management, or business operations. Experience managing bar or beverage operations. Certification in health and safety, first aid, or food hygiene. Experience coordinating large-scale or high-profile events. Understanding of budgeting and cost control within event operations. Experience driving across the UK & Ireland for event logistics.

Salary



25,200 + Bonus Structure
