The Role:
We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Operations Supervisor to join our busy team. This role plays a key part in the day-to-day running of our operations and will involve supervising a team comprising office staff, warehouse staff, and HGV drivers. Responsibilities consist of (but not limited to):
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and support office staff, warehouse staff, and HGV drivers
Effective and efficient problem solving within the department
Identifying, monitoring and solving responsibility gaps within the department (including the willingness to step into office and warehouse roles when required to maintain continuity)
Assist Transport Managers with recruitment, disciplinary processes, and performance reviews
Ensure operational KPI's are consistently met
Conduct staff inductions and support on-boarding processes
Monitor HGV loading times and ensure efficiency targets are maintained
Ensure drivers complete daily walk around checks
Conduct driver licence checks and assist with warehouse compliance checks
Track fleet and delivery movements as needed
Handle incoming calls from network depots, delivery points, and customers--including complaints resolution
Support the general operations function with flexibility and professionalism
Other ad hoc duties required by the Transport Managers
Working Hours:
The Operations Supervisor role is Full-time, Monday to Friday. The day would be a 9.5 hour day with a 1 hour unpaid break. The company operates between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM, and working hours will vary within this range. Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the business. Some very occasional Saturday work may also be required.
Salary:
The salary for this role is 13.25 per hour, with an enhanced overtime rate at 14.25 per hour.
Annual Leave Entitlement:
Annual leave entitlement is 28 days including bank holidays. 3 days are also required to be sacrificed for the Christmas period as we do not operate over Christmas.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role
Full UK Driver's Licence
Forklift driving experience (preferred)
