Operations Team Lead
to help drive day-to-day performance in our warehouse, support process improvements, and lead a team to achieve consistently high standards.
The Role
The Operations Team Lead will play a key part in the smooth running of our warehouse and logistics operation. You will supervise a team responsible for picking, packing, goods-in, stock movements, and general warehouse tasks, ensuring accuracy, speed, and safety at all times.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and motivated by process improvement and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Coordination
Lead and motivate a team of warehouse operatives across picking, packing, and goods-in.
Allocate daily tasks based on business priorities and order volumes.
Monitor performance and provide coaching, feedback, and support.
Maintain a positive, accountable, and results-focused working environment.
Operational Performance
Ensure orders are picked and packed accurately and dispatched on time.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and efficiency gains.
Help oversee warehouse layout, replenishment, and stock rotation.
Report operational issues quickly and support problem resolution.
Inventory & Stock Management
Maintain high levels of stock accuracy through cycle counts and process checks.
Support inventory investigations and identify root causes of discrepancies.
Ensure correct receiving and putaway procedures are followed.
Quality & Compliance
Enforce SOPs, health and safety standards, and operational best practices.
Ensure all team members follow company policies and warehouse guidelines.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Communication & Reporting
Work closely with the Outbound Manager (Line Manager) and FBA Manager/Buyer to communicate performance, challenges, and resource needs.
Help prepare operational reports and KPI tracking when required.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Experience supervising or leading a team within a warehouse or operations environment.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced, high-volume conditions.
Excellent communication and people skills.
A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
High attention to detail and accountability.
Desirable:
Experience in eCommerce fulfilment or multi-marketplace operations.
Familiarity with WMS systems (Peoplevox, Linnworks, or similar).
Knowledge of Amazon FBA/FBM processes.
Forklift/PPT licence (not essential).
