We are looking for Operations Technicians for our Energy from Waste (EfW) Thermal Oil Plant in Exeter, Devon.
As part of the team, your role will be to assist in the 24/7 safe and efficient running of the site operations, focussing on the optimisation of plant performance through consistent fuelling to maximise heat and electrical output.
You will be one of 8 Technicians working 12 hour shifts, on a 4 on/off shift pattern to cover days and nights. During the night shift, you will also provide night-time operation and monitoring of all established Brooke Energy CHP Assets.
We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive team players, who have;
Preferably 2 years' operations or maintenance experience within in Power, Utilities or Agricultural environments
A strong understanding of safe working systems e.g., plant isolations
Experience working with SCADA systems
Mechanical or Electrical qualifications would be beneficial but not necessary
The ability to work 12-hour shifts; subject to health surveillance checks for night work
Educated to minimum A Level qualification or equivalent in a technical or science subject
Computer skills related to Microsoft Office and CMMS programs
The ability to operate a forklift would be beneficial but not necessary as training will be provided.
Duties will include
:
Operating the plant in a safe, continuous, environmentally compliant and efficient manner on a shift rotation basis: fuel processing, furnace and boiler optimisation, Thermal Oil systems, fans, pumps, ORC Turbine Generator, ash handling, water treatment processes, conveyors, filter systems and valves etc.
Performing plant walk-arounds and inspections and recording information as per the management system requirements.
Undertaking daily and front line maintenance
Control Room Operations:
o Providing first line fault finding, technical advice and back up
o Ensuring all operational logs and shift handovers are complete and accurate
o Responding to alarms in a responsible, timely and organised manner
Providing additional support during shutdowns and breakdowns.
Adhering to operational SOPs and Health and Safety procedures
Undertaking all duties in a reliable, skilled, flexible and constructive manner.
Assisting the team as required.
