Job Introduction

An opportunity is available for an Operator in the Major Projects team based at Taunton.


As an Operator you will assist a Craftsperson with the construction, maintenance, replacement and repair of assets up to and including 132kV. You will ideally have some experience in the electrical field and all necessary training will be provided.


To apply, you will need to hold English & Maths GCSE (1-9/G-A*) or equivalent qualification deemed to be at the same level in these subjects, such as Functional Skills. Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.


Main Responsibilities

The work will involve being away from the depot, normally working in team of four people.


The working environment requires quick, decisive and responsible actions to meet the demands of the role.


The Ideal Candidate

You will need to be flexible in your approach to assist the team in meeting its objectives. In addition, you will need to be mobile throughout the area as you may be required to undertake standby duties and a valid driving licence is essential.


Operationally we require you to live within approximately 30 minutes of the depot you are applying for.

This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service, (DBS) check, depending on the role different levels of screening and vetting are required. Some roles require a triannual check.
