We are seeking a skilled Operator to join our dynamic and friendly team, manufacturing metal floor joint systems and providing general fabrication services. We have a modern, purpose-built factory with excellent facilities, providing secure parking for employees, on a small industrial estate in a rural setting. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a metal fabrication workshop, possess a strong mechanical knowledge and have experience of operating various metal working equipment. We are looking for candidates with a positive 'can-do' attitude. Successful candidates will be requested to undertake a DBS check, at our cost.
Duties
Read engineering drawings.
Be able to accurately measure metal components.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures.
Follow all health and safety policies, procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Adhere to quality standards.
Maintain excellent housekeeping in their working area.
Operate and monitor machinery and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Achieve sensible production targets.
Perform welding and basic fabrication tasks as required.
Handle materials effectively, ensuring proper storage and movement within the factory.
Conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment to prevent downtime.
Collaborate with team members to improve production processes and efficiency.
Maintain accurate records of operations, including production logs and equipment status.
Requirements
Numerate: basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to production tasks.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
Strong mechanical knowledge.
Logical and methodical way of working.
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
Ideally experience in MIG welding (and TIG) and fabrication techniques.
Ideally experience of operating fabrication equipment such as pillar drills, angle grinders, battery hand tools, powered machinery, chop saw, hydraulic punches, mechanical presses etc.
Ideally experience in operating press-brakes and flatbed laser cutting machinery.
Forklift trained.
Familiarity with materials handling practices within a factory setting.
Work effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
Positive 'can-do' attitude and be a team player.

Hours of work are 7:30-5:00 Mon - Thurs and 7:30-11:30 Fri.
