An exciting position has become available for an Optical Practice Manager based in our Jarrow practice - JS Lowry Opticians . This position is perfect for someone who wants to gain more management experience and be part as a team at an established opticians.
As our optical practice manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the practice, including managing staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, handling administrative tasks and maintaining a high standard of eye care services while driving sales within the practice; essentially acting as the leader and key decision-maker in the optical business. Previous management and optical experience is essential for this role.
Key responsibilities may include:
Staff Management:
Training and supervising optical staff including opticians and receptionists.
Performance evaluations and staff development
Creating and managing staff schedules
Build a strong relationship with the Senior Leadership Team.
Patient Care and Operations:
Scheduling patient appointments and managing appointment flow
Ensuring patients receive excellent customer service
Handling patient concerns and complaints
Financial Management:
Analysing sales data to identify opportunities for growth
Managing inventory of optical frames and lenses
Administrative Duties:
Maintaining compliance with industry regulations and standards
Managing practice documentation and records
Ordering supplies and equipment
Sales and Marketing:
Implementing marketing strategies to attract new patients
Promoting optical products and services
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong leadership and management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in optical dispensing and knowledge of eye care practices
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
