About the role:
The principle purpose of the Oral Health Technical Lead role is to 'own' and lead a team in all of the technical aspects of a product or dose form family at a global level. Technical leadership is provided for the innovation portfolio for the group of products, performance improvements including globally impacting Value Engineering, remediation, sustainability, PPV projects and manufacturing transformation are completed and Product Robustness and Continuous Improvement are driven consistently at all sites.
In this role you will:This is a key leadership role and the Functional Lead is expected to provide leadership and establish key partnerships across R&D, Operations, Category, Quality, sites and Engineering for the product(s) for which they are accountable.
The Functional Team Leader is highly knowledgeable about both the current status and history of the product/products, is recognised globally as the principle point of contact ('go to' person) for the end to end process, for all aspects of current and previous knowledge and performance.
This role is responsible for leading a small team of experts (Global Product Owners and Engineers). Responsible for maintaining expertise in the dose form/ products through the training and development of both central and site based technical staff.
Ensuring that all aspects of Product Quality Lifecycle management are applied to the product(s) including a current Technical Risk Assessment, Product Control Strategy.
Ensuring a data driven continuous improvement programme is in place for the dose form/ products driving quality, cost and efficiency improvements.
The Function Lead ensures technical representation for the supply chain in early stage New Product Introductions (NPIs) development with R&D and provides technical support for supply strategy planning and sourcing decisions.
Ensure that technical due diligence is completed for new supply sites or technologies, working with Global New Business as requested.
Ensures standardisation of the Product Control Strategy across different manufacturing sites and sharing best practice through formation and oversight of community of practices.
Provides technical oversight during technology transfer of products into supply sites from R&D, out to other sites and during site to site transfers as needed depending on donor and receiving site capability and product complexity.
Provides technical leadership and input into root cause analyses to support complex investigations and resolution of product complaints and product deviations and investigations, in conjunction with QA.
Managing and leading formulation re-development activities to maintain the family of products on the market
Providing the Technical and strategic Leadership to meet the company's sustainability ambition by executing sustainability projects
Preferred Skills and QualificationsDegree, Master's degree or MBA - Science, Engineering
Proven knowledge/experience in Oral healthcare would be preferred due to the nature of the position, however, demonstrated experienced in the FMCG, Food or Pharmaceutical industry in leading the Technical aspects of the Product Lifecycle including; Technology Transfers, Technical Risk Assessments, Product Control Strategies, product re-development, pro-active data trending, Validation and change control.
Strong technical credibility, learning agility key (particularly for major Maintenance/VE/Sustainability programs)
Leading People, e.g. leadership, coaching, meaningful conversations, performance development, talent management & succession planning, all within cross-cultural and diverse situations.
Managing change in complex situations.
Having an in depth understanding of how the business works and its key issues, with excellent knowledge of the different functions, regulation and the industry.
Being politically astute, understanding the politics of corporate life and understanding social, economic and sustainability needs
Highly effective at inspiring and influencing internally and externally.
Managing a budget; resource forecasting and understanding the issues and the impact of strategic and economic changes on these.
