About us

------------

University College London (UCL) is more than just a place of education; it's London's Global University--a hub for innovation, research, and world-class learning. At UCL, we believe in the power of our people, and it's the mission of our Organisational Development (OD) team to nurture and empower our 16,000-strong workforce. Spanning academic, research, teaching, and professional services, our diverse community is the heart of UCL's success, and we are committed to their ongoing growth and development.

As part of the HR Division, the OD team plays a pivotal role in delivering on UCL's 2022-2027 strategic plan, ensuring we create the right learning and talent systems to help every colleague reach their full potential. Our work is grounded in a strong commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, and we actively contribute to initiatives like Athena SWAN and Race Equality. For us, equity of opportunity is not just a goal--it's the foundation of how we design our talent, learning, and leadership development practices.

The Talent team, a key component of OD, is tasked with fostering the growth and retention of our exceptional staff. We support colleagues at all stages of their careers, including through Apprenticeships, helping them build meaningful, progressive career paths at UCL. Currently, the Talent team is driving the design and implementation of a groundbreaking digital platform, Thrive, that will transform our approach to performance, talent management, and learning.

About the role

------------------

As a Project Manager within the Talent team (and Thrive product team) within Organisational Development, you'll be involved in a combination of operational delivery with project management and change implementation in support of talent and performance development initiatives. A key focus is supporting the rollout of the Thrive platform, starting with MyAppraisal and extending to broader learning and talent tools. You will coordinate stakeholder engagement, develop supporting tools and materials, and ensure integration of digital solutions into routine operations.

Your responsibilities will involve (but are not limited to) the following:

Project Management & Delivery

Lead and support on organisational development projects (e.g. Thrive platform rollout), development tools (e.g., 360 feedback, Career Toolkit), and talent management programmes (e.g., mentoring, succession planning).

Data & Reporting

Gather and analyse data to inform decisions and measure impact. Produce reports, case studies, and success stories.

Stakeholder Engagement

Create and implement engagement plans, develop communication materials, ensure alignment with EDI standards, and deliver presentations and workshops.

Operational Support

Provide administrative support, coordinate meetings, manage multiple tasks, respond to user queries, and contribute to process improvements.

Overall, the role is central to enhancing UCL's talent development systems through effective project execution, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Please note, this is a 12-month fixed term contract, offering hybrid working and will be based onsite 2-days per week (Monday and one other) at our London Kings Cross/ St Pancras office.
